Howdy there pardner!
Well I went for a bike ride tonight.
And no I am not always going to have a blog entry about my workouts, but yes thus far that is how it is appearing isn't it? Okay - another great evening. I went riding down 17/92 it follows the coast of Lake Monroe which is a lake fed by the St. Johns River. It was a great night I started at dusk and there in lies the beginning of my problem. I am already out of my neighborhood and onto the highway - which has no stop lights so it is a great long non-stopping ride - I reach down to turn on my headlight and shit the batteries are dead. My tail light does blink so at least I can be seen, whew. I am cruising along at a nice clip and make it to the zoo and by this time I think to myself well you would just be a woos if you didn't go over the bridge, and once I am over the bridge I say well you might as well ride to your office. It took me 30 minutes so I might start riding to work on Fridays...we will see... It was a great ride, it was just in the dark.
Is there a point? not really just proper preparation is a key component to everything and I just wanted to pass that on.
Suffice it to say the ride back from the office was a bit tougher, no light and the apparent speed of my trip in the beginning was due to the tail wind. So when I turned around I went from an average speed of 22mph to a bustling 12mph. That put a damper on my ride home, but I put my head down and trudged through.
Another point - if you want to accomplish something it isn't always going to be peaches and cream. But, you should at least enjoy the view as it passes you buy. And a lake at night with the reflection of the moon is a beautiful site.
